You are a Survivor: Finding Stability After Trauma
It takes immense courage to look for support, especially when the past continues to interrupt your present. If you are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or constantly bracing yourself for the next difficult feeling, please know that you are not broken. Your nervous system is simply reacting to what has happened.
I specialize in helping people find a clear, structured path to stability after experiences of trauma. I am here to provide the space where you can finally feel heard, validated, and truly comfortable. We will work together, always at your pace, to gently restore a sense of calm and control in your life.
I provide trauma therapy in person at our office location in Westminster, Colorado, and offer secure, convenient virtual therapy to clients located anywhere in the state of Colorado.
My Approach to Lasting Change
Healing is not about forgetting the past; it is about finding a way to move forward without being continually dragged back by it. I use highly effective, evidence based therapies that focus on addressing both emotional regulation and trauma processing.
My approach incorporates three of the most trusted treatments for trauma and emotional distress. I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help you learn concrete, practical skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and staying present in the moment. When processing past events, I use both Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to challenge and change the heavy, often hidden beliefs about yourself and the world that trauma leaves behind, and Prolonged Exposure (PE) to gradually and safely approach the memories and situations you have been avoiding, so they no longer hold power over your life.
My commitment is to guide you through this process with deep compassion and respect, helping you move from a state of survival to a life defined by meaning, connection, and peace.
The Benefits You Can Expect
The ultimate goal of our work is simple: to help you move from surviving to truly thriving. You can expect profound shifts in how you experience the world. This includes a significant quieting of your nervous system, leading to far fewer flashbacks and less emotional reactivity. You will gain mastery over overwhelming feelings and experience a greater sense of calm and control in your daily life. Clients frequently report improved self awareness, stronger relationships, and the deep, undeniable realization that your past no longer dictates your present or your future. You can expect to reclaim the fullness of your life.
